Karen was great for us when purchasing a property in Yamba. It was the first time we had gone through the process of buying a house and she made it all very simple and was reliable. I would definitely go through Karen again.

About
Karen
Karen Van Bael founded Conveyancing by Karen in May 2015, after two decades working for some of the biggest law firms in Sydney, Maclean and Yamba. She moved to the Lower Clarence area in 1992 to provide a better lifestyle for her three sons and is now a proud grandmother to her first grandson.
Karen graduated with an Associate Degree in Law (Paralegal Studies) from Southern Cross University while working full-time for a local law firm. As a practicing NSW conveyancer, she is certified through the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (AIC) and licensed under the Conveyancers Licensing Act 2003 (Licence No.050009798).
Why should I use a
licensed conveyancer?
Conveyancing is a highly specialised field of property law. While some people may consider doing their own conveyancing, this can be very complex and time consuming and you could risk making expensive mistakes. For these reasons, most people choose to hire an experienced professional to do the job.
In New South Wales, you have the choice of hiring a conveyancer or a solicitor to handle the transfer of ownership of your property. While both should have a good working knowledge of property laws, a licensed conveyancer specialises in this field and can give you their full attention, without being pulled away to deal with other legal matters.
Making sure your conveyancer is appropriately licensed and experienced will give you peace of mind that they’re looking out for your interests and that your property transaction is in safe hands. To obtain a full conveyancer’s licence in NSW, a professional must:
- be a member of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers NSW Division
- have completed a minimum of 2 years study at tertiary level on ‘real property’ law
- have at least 2 years supervised practical experience in conveyancing
A licensed conveyancer will also be able to complete any related tasks required for your settlement, such as registering a Power of Attorney. Conveyancers work on a fixed fee basis in most cases, which can make them more affordable than solicitors.
Why choose us?
Karen brings her wealth of practical industry experience and caring personality to provide personal and timely services for our clients and she always works hard to deliver the best possible outcomes. We treat our clients like family and get great personal satisfaction from helping people save time and money on their property transactions.
As licensed conveyancers in NSW, we participate in a compulsory professional development program to continually update our knowledge and skills. We hold professional indemnity insurance and are regularly assessed through a risk management program to make sure our clients’ transactions are safe and secure.
